"phone recorder" VoiParrot A VOIP Phone Recorder "VOIP recorder"

Before You Try It

VoiParrot is a VOIP (Voice Over IP) phone recorder that is designed to be used with Vonage, netTALK, MagicJack, Ooma Office, and other compatible VOIP providers.  The easiest way to find out if your VOIP phone service is compatible is to download a free copy of VoiParrot and give it a try.

If you use a hardware adapter for your VOIP phone connection the only thing you need prior to using VoiParrot to record your phone calls is a common router that both your VOIP phone adapter and your computer are plugged into.  The router can be standalone, as shown below, or integrated with the Cable/DSL Modem.  VoiParrot will re-route only VOIP communications and share it with the computer and therefore allow the recording of this information. Please refer to the following diagram that depicts a typical VOIP Adapter configuration:

Configuration When VOIP Adapter Is Connected To Router

       "VOIP configuration"

A wired connection from the computer to the router is almost always a configuration that will work for adapter based VOIP but wireless connections to the router tend to be a problem.  If you have a wireless configuration and you are having problems running VoiParrot please try adding your VOIP adapters MAC address to VoiParrot’s Manual Recording mode.  If your still having problems running within a wireless network then try adding an additional wired connection to the router. A wireless connection between the computer and the router is not a problem when using a SoftPhone.

Configuration When VOIP Adapter Is Connected To Computer

An alternate way of using your VOIP adapter is to connect it directly to an Ethernet port of the computer.  This method would be used if your having a problem running VoiParrot with the previous router configuration (Especially if your using a wireless connections between the computer and the router).

If you use a SoftPhone (such as MagicJack) then the following diagram represents a typical configuration:

Both types of VOIP (Adapter and SoftPhone based) can be used with VoiParrot at the same time (Up to 10 VOIP phones can be active at the same time depending on the capability of your computer).
